Can't find Filteronme camera in app settings

If Filteronme's camera doesn't show up as an option in another app's video settings:

Mac: the virtual camera may not be installed yet. In Filteronme, go to the Settings tab and click Install virtual camera.

Windows: open Filteronme before you open the app you want to use it in — the camera only appears in that app's list once Filteronme is already running.
